About Daily Harvest

Daily Harvest pioneered the frozen plant-based meal subscription category when founder Rachel Drori launched the service in 2015 after leaving marketing executive roles at Gilt Groupe, American Express, and Four Seasons. The New York-based company built its brand around convenience-meets-nutrition, delivering frozen smoothies, bowls, soups, and more that require minimal preparation.

Company History

Founded in 2015 by Rachel Drori, Daily Harvest grew rapidly by targeting busy health-conscious consumers who wanted nutritious options without cooking. In May 2025, Chobani acquired Daily Harvest, bringing the plant-based subscription service under the yogurt giant’s operational umbrella. This acquisition added food safety expertise following a 2022 product recall. The relaunched service in January 2026 introduced a new “Daily Routine” lineup focusing on functional benefits.

Products & Services

Daily Harvest offers 100+ frozen plant-based items:

  • Smoothies: Classic (2-4g protein) and high-protein (20g) versions
  • Harvest Bowls: Savory meal bowls with grains and vegetables
  • Soups: Hearty frozen soups ready to heat
  • Flatbreads: Plant-based pizzas for baking
  • Oat Bowls: High-protein breakfast options (16g+)
  • Bites: Frozen snacks for grab-and-go

All products are 95-98% organic with no gums, fillers, preservatives, or artificial ingredients.

What Sets Them Apart

Daily Harvest differentiates through clean ingredients and plant-based convenience. Everything is vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free by default, no special requests needed. The minimal prep (add liquid and blend, or simply heat) appeals to busy professionals who want nutritious options without cooking time.

However, the F BBB rating (due to failure to respond to complaints) and delivery issues represent significant operational challenges. Products are now available at Target, Kroger, and Costco, offering a lower-risk way to try Daily Harvest before committing to subscription. The Chobani acquisition may improve operations going forward.
