YumeTwins ships a monthly box of kawaii character merchandise from Tokyo, mixing licensed goods from Sanrio, Studio Ghibli, Sailor Moon, Pokémon, and Cardcaptor Sakura with items its own Tokyo team designs. Each box includes a Kawaii Culture Guide explaining the characters and traditions behind that month’s selection.

The company does not publish a founding date. Its terms carry a copyright notice beginning in 2015, and the earliest archived capture of its site is from May 2016, so we record 2016 as the earliest verifiable date rather than assert an earlier one.

YumeTwins operates as YumeTwins Ltd. under Ichigo, a privately held Japanese company that also runs TokyoTreat, Sakuraco, nomakenolife, JapanHaul, and TokyoCatch.

A name collision worth knowing about: a large publicly traded Japanese real estate and asset management firm is also called Ichigo Inc., listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It is a completely unrelated business. Financial filings, earnings reports, or risk data found under that name have nothing to do with this subscription, and we mention it because the confusion is easy to fall into and could produce either a false scare or false reassurance.

What Sets Them Apart

The mix of licensed character goods with items designed in-house means a portion of each box genuinely cannot be bought elsewhere, which is unusual for a merchandise subscription. Shipping directly from Tokyo also gives it access to releases that do not reach Western retail, though it is the reason delivery takes longer than a domestic box.
