About Little Passports

Little Passports creates educational subscription boxes that teach children about world geography, cultures, and science through hands-on activities. Founded by two moms who wanted to inspire curiosity about the world, the company has shipped millions of boxes to families seeking screen-free educational entertainment.

Company History

Founded in 2009 by Amy Norman and Stella Ma, Little Passports started with a simple idea: help kids explore the world from home. Both founders, mothers themselves, wanted educational products that would engage children while teaching about geography and global cultures without relying on screens.

The flagship World Edition subscription introduces kids to different countries each month through activities, souvenirs, and letters from fictional pen pals Sam and Sofia. The company has since expanded to include science, early learning, and space-themed subscriptions for different age ranges.

Products & Services

  • World Edition (Ages 6-10): Explore a new country each month with activities, souvenirs, and cultural lessons
  • USA Edition (Ages 7-12): Discover two US states per month with history, geography, and fun facts
  • Early Explorers (Ages 3-5): Introduce young children to world themes through play-based learning
  • Science Expeditions (Ages 9+): STEM activities with hands-on science experiments
  • Space Quest (Ages 8+): Space science and astronomy-themed activities

What Sets Them Apart

Little Passports combines education with adventure through storytelling. The recurring characters Sam and Sofia guide children on journeys, making learning feel like exploration rather than schoolwork. Each box includes a mix of activities, stickers, souvenirs, and educational content designed by educators and child development experts.

The screen-free focus appeals to parents seeking alternatives to digital entertainment, while the subscription model creates anticipation and consistent learning opportunities throughout the year.
